In autumn 2015 Studio Laucke Siebein designed the visual identity of the RijksakademieOPEN („open days“). After times of financial cutbacks and political negligence of the art and creative scene, it symbolizes iconographically the reclaimed energy of the dutch art scene. The circular „O“ screams with new enthusiams „We are open!“. It calls for more „A-a-a-r-t!“ and mirrors an aggressive urgency of our times. The open mouth leaves space for interpretation and functions as an icon as well as typographic element.
